Up for the auction is a beautiful antique 19th century Qi'ing dynasty Chinese embroidered silk panel comprised out of 2 sleeve bands from an informal woman's robe, sewn together and bordered with a brocade silk border.
On a blue silk background material features blooming flowers and flying butterflies.
Worked in exceptional satin stitches using black silk threads.
Lined with a black damask silk lining.
The panel together with the black border measures 18 6/8" (47.2 cm) long x 12 2/8" (31 cm) wide; the embroidered part itself measures 15 2/8" (38.6 cm) long x 8 6/8" (21.8 cm) wide.
Condition: good antique condition overall with no damages or imperfections aside insignificant losses to the threads of the embroidery and light fading in spots here and there (see pictures).
