Description
Fabulous antique 19th century French cut glass jewelry box or casket. Featuring thick, blown glass in a lovely green color with an all over satin finish to the exterior. Patterned with clusters of flowers and leaves, beautifully hand painted in raised white enamel with hints of pink and yellow enameled accents. Hinged gilt ormolu mounts feature a rounded escutcheon lock. Resting on four ornate casted feet decorated with scrolling foliage, oval medallions and scalloped sea shells. In good condition with general wear commensurate with use and age. Retains a working lock and a makeshift key that functions well with the locking mechanism. Measures 5 3/4" x 4 7/8" x 5 5/8" tall.
