Joseph Cheaney established the company in 1886, and in 1896, along with his brother Arthur, they moved to the site which the factory occupies today The business was sold in 1964 to Church's English Shoes, the world famous brand based in Northampton, and to this day Cheaney remain one of Englands most prestigious shoemakers. |
These shoes are a classic style monkstrap shoe with a silver colour buckle on a 3 hole fastening strap in UK size 10 F (U.S. 10.5/11 ----- EU 44) formed on long sleek shaped last 205 cut from finest hand burnished espresso brown calf leather with punched hole decor on toes (see last photo). They feature goodyear welted & stitched leather soles, and will come to you in original box ,as you would expect at this quality level they are internally 100% leather lined, and are in perfect condition. Whilst technically shoes are marked as UK 10 F in reality on this long shaped last they are a roomy UK 10 going on toward UK 10.5 F.
Please check against your own footwear before bidding, external sole measurements are Length 12 7/8" --- 328mm and Width at widest is 4 1/4" ---- 108mm
