Here we have a beautiful, brand new wooden ship kit by Model Slipway: the "1920s Puffer"

The "Puffer" is a traditional general purpose steam ship used to carry just about anything around the West Coast of Scotland.

This model is best fitted with a micro-servo for steering, such as the HiTech HS55. We've also found that the same manufacturer's Feather 4-channel receiver was ideal, although a standard 2-channel receiver is small enough to fit easily inside the hull. We recommend the use of an electronic micro-sized speed controller such as M/Tronik's "M/Sonik4/1 Marine" or ACTion's P68A. Both of these have a Battery Eliminator Circuit which enables you to run both the motor and RC gear from the same battery pack. The motor supplied with the kit does not require any further electrical suppression.

At Ages of Sail, our model kits are always of the highest quality available, with laser-cut parts and ornamentation made from the finest materials for an authentic look. This brand new kit comes with detailed English instructions, though the "1920s Puffer" is best for intermediate to advanced builders!
