Offered for your consideration is one (1) fairly well-preserved Philips AD3800 M 8 inch Alnico magnet full range driver made in Holland, 1957. Philips, the Dutch electronics giant, introduced these octagonal frame speakers in 1955. Unlike the 800 ohm AD3800 AM that was meant for use with a special Philips amplifier, this 8 ohm version was popular with HiFi hobbyist speaker-builders on both sides of the Atlantic! This Philips speaker is in clean, excellent condition with some light staining on the cone. Otherwise The paper cone is structurally flawless and has an ancillary “whizzer” cone for enhanced upper frequency response. Plus, the integral cone suspension is in great shape with no edge cracks and the voice coil dustcap is also perfect. Also, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity (red gasket = pos).
