Exceptionally Rare, Late 1930's
Early 1940's Vintage
 Woolrich
Game Bird Hunter's
Red Wool Coat
Size 42

Exceptionally hard to find vintage Woolrich game bird hunting jacket in solid red wool.
Label style was produced late 1930's to early 1940's. Early metal zipper up the front with back zippered pocket which is chamois lined to hold the hunter's pheasant or other game bird. Left upper breast pocket with flap and button closure. Two side slant front pockets . Double button sleeve cuffs.  Old Woolrich Woolen Mills Woolrich, PA label sewn in place.  Size label reads size 42...please check measurements below:
Chest...underarm to underarm around: 46 inches
Waist: 44 inches
Underarm to hemline: 14 inches
Underarm to sleeve cuff: 19 inches
This is an early...best guess is 1940's vintage coat judging by the belt style back
Shoulder to shoulder: 19 inches
In remarkable condition for being close to 100 years old. The following flaws are noted:
Both sleeve cuffs cotton lining is in place, but worn around edges. There is a 1/2 inch "L" shaped wool tear left sleeve with 3 small stains noted in same area. Small wool wear right side seam. Small wool wear mid jacket front near zipper on jacket left with some stains noted same area on left. Yes...this does have some issues, but not only is this a rare find, but it is wearable. Serious bidders only please.
