This item is a 5-50 μl variable micropipette .
These precision laboratory micropipettes were manufactured by Socorex for use by Ortho Clinical Diagnostics for their Amerlite product range in the late 1990's , early 2000's . They have been stored in excellent warehousing , have the original calibration data , are in their original packaging and have never been used . I have a significant number of these items .
I am selling them at a very reduced price , compared to the current prices of similar products on the market today . They can be used with total confidence in any laboratory . As in most of these laboratories , it is always good practice to calibrate these items on a routine basis anyway .
Following a question about these pipettes , the
pipettes are very easy to adjust . It is done by the turning of the
knurled top against a vernier scale - see one of the pictures above .
I received
some excellent feedback from an ebayer buyer . He agreed that I could
put his comments in this description so that should another buyer find the same
"stickiness" it should be fairly easy to resolve . I will check each one prior to shipping .

I
received my pipette today and I'm very pleased with it. Great price and
works perfectly for the job I had in mind. However, I thought I should
let you know that the adjustment mechanism was firmly stuck at first. A
(very) hard twist freed it up but then I had to wind it top-to-bottom
several times to get all the click stops clicking properly. It's working
like a good 'un now though. It probably got a bit bound up after
sitting in the warehouse so long. No complaint here, but you might want
to check this before shipping the next one (just in case you get a picky

I have additional Socorex micropipettes which can deliver between 50-200 μl and 200-1000 μl , thus allowing the user to dispense a complete range of between 5 and 1000 μl routinely and repetitively . Please look at my other products .

MICROPIPETTES - FIXED AND ADJUSTABLE

The
Acura® fixed and adjustable volume micropipettes are working on the air
displacement principle. Operating the plunger button will draw the sample into
the detachable polypropylene tip without any contact with the plunger assembly.
The discharge travel of the plunger provides for an overshoot movement to flush
the tip empty.
