A gorgeous chandelier, hand painted in warm forest tones, and with delightful glass shades.
It has a pressed brass ceiling rose has fluting at the centre and a link pattern around the centre. The long chain below has alternate plain and fancy links joining to the top of the chandelier on a small round brass hook.
At the top of the central column sits a pretty brass acanthus flower rose. The column in creamy glazed ceramic has a rounded top and an undulating vase shape. It is decorated all over with bold hand painted sprays of deep forest green and russet leaves with lovely bright pink and blue daisies in the middle.
The dark brass mid section of the light is fluted both top and bottom with delicate beading around the rim and from the plain band around the centre extend the five very decorative arms. They have a long double finial at the inner end and a sweep of plumage along the top splits into long curling tendrils along the rest of the length. Smart capitals at each end support the fine lacelike faux mantles. In mainly opaque glass, the tall shades have a clear ruffled rim at the top and garlands of detailed textured flowers spiral around the centre.
The base of the light is a large ceramic globe with more raised sprays of flowers and foliage encircling it all in the same warm earthy tones highlighted with the bright pink and blue daisies. A small brass daisy applique and bronze finial in the centre completes this very appealing light.
In excellent good vintage condition, one of the shades has a small crack in the base (photographed) but it is barely visible when mounted as you can see. The brass has developed a deep timeworn colour over the years, perfectly complementing the charming primitive style of the light.
A substantial chandelier with eyecatching decoration that would make a handsome centrepiece, particularly for a country or rustic inspired interior.

The chandelier is fully functional and takes 5 small screw in bulbs (not included), however as with all vintage lighting it should be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
