Dwarf Elephant Ear Alocasia 'California' Organic Seed. This listing is for the sale of 15+ fresh Alocasia seed grown from plants that were raised organically. Alocasia like these typically do not set seed unless they are directly pollinated. Since their native insects are not available here in South Florida, we usually see the beautiful white Spathiphyllum type flowers wither away after a few days. In our garden, we never use insecticides or chemicals of any kind and practice responsible organic gardening methods only. Since we have so many pollinators as a direct result, we actually get full fruit set on our Dwarf Elephant Ear Alocasias. We pick our seed fresh and now offer it to you. These seeds are very tropical and as such do not last long. We have helped preserve them by offering them for sale in sealed glass vials packed with organic cotton and moisture absorbing silica beads. You should never freeze these seeds as they may not survive. Keep your seeds in a cool dark place away from heat and direct sunlight. For best germination, Put your favorite seed starting mix in a 4" pot and loosely cover your Alocasia seed. Water in and maintain 85-90 temperatures steadily whilst keeping the soil moist, never allowing it to completely dry. You should see new plants emerging within a few weeks to a month if you did everything right. Even after doing everything right you may only get 50% or even less germination rates. That is usually because people don't take the "keep it between 85-90 degrees and moist at all times" seriously. If you follow my advice to the letter you will have the best chance for success but as with all living things, we can not guarantee any specific germination rates on our tropical seed. Thank you for your support and please enjoy.
