New old stock (pre-1972) American made (Attleboro Chain Company -Attleboro Mass.) solid sterling silver (.925) with bright rhodium plating (for luster and to prevent tarnish) premium grade pocket watch chain.
Discontinued long ago by manufacturer - new old stock from supply warehouse.

The Dickens styled (or double Albert) watch chain features 3.6mm (a bit over 1/8") wide SOLDERED (superior strength and durability) FIGARO styled chain links.
Most watch chains (...from any era...) are manufactured from "split-ring" chain links. The split-ring link is inherently weaker - (leaving a slight gap between ends of wire formed into chain link) and can bend- deform and fail much easier than soldered (or welded links). Soldered chain links are much more expensive to produce - but are designed to endure a lifetime of daily "wear and tear", and provide the most secure connection between you and your watch.
Total weight is 14.5g (almost 1/2 OZT). This top quality - solid sterling (925/1000) silver (not silver plated!)
For the sake of measuring ( and to hopefully avoid confusion) -I divided chain into 4 sections. All are connected (attached) to central 6mm welded jump ring:
Toggle Bar Extension: 32mm (1-1/4") cable link chain with 40mm (1-1/2") solid (not hollow) sterling silver toggle bar. "AC CO STG" stamped on jump ring preceding toggle bar.
Swivel Extension: 165mm (6-1/2") Figaro link chain length + 21mm (13/16") solid sterling silver swivel (attaches to watch hoop)-stamped "STERLING" on inside surface. "AC CO STG" stamped on jump ring preceding swivel.
Spring Ring Extension: 165mm (6-1/2") Figaro chain length + 8mm (5/16") sterling silver spring ring (designed to secure a watch key, or small knife- compass fob or charm ) - stamped "STERLING" on outer surface. "AC CO STG" stamped on jump ring preceding spring ring.
Charm - Fob Extension: 25mm (1") Figaro chain length + 6mm (1/4") solid sterling silver soldered jump ring (for charm or medal)
End to end- the chain measures almost 15" (385mm) long
The Dickens (or double Albert) styled watch chain was most popular during the Victorian through Edwardian eras (right before turn of the century and a dozen or so years past). Its design was the most complete and luxurious conceived.
