Please read carefully before clicks BUY: This is an listing for a Minolta SRT 303.

Cosmetically it is in obviously used condition, showing signs of wear, but apart from significant wear to the plastic coating on the film advance handle, it is basically in sound condition if you don't mind to occasional blemish and a little dust in the viewfinder which you'd expect for a camera of this age. However there are some mechanical faults you need to be aware of.

Firstly, the depth of field/focus preview button does not work as it should. After much trial and error I can say that it works when you press it, but when you press it again it doesn't disengage until you fire the shutter. Not a huge pain actually, but it's something I occasionally use so it might be a deal breaker. Just so you know the depth of field preview only works on SRTs when the shutter is cocked - this camera is no exception, obviously.

Secondly, the small aperture arm at the front of the camera which moves when you change aperture on the lens, therefore adjusting the meter, is sometimes fairly sluggish to return back to position. It seems worse in cold temperatures, maybe, but I could be wrong. Maybe a bit of WD40 might fix it. Anyway, it does work, but sometimes there's a delay before it slides back after changing the f-stop. This doesn't affect the functioning of the camera to take photos, but it does mean the meter is sluggish when adjusting aperture at times. Again this problem seems intermittent. It could be all these problems are connected and easily fixable with a screwdriver and a little effort or it could mean that this camera is rapidly failing... I don't know.

Lastly (this is not a fault but a word of advice) with a LR44 the meter runs two stops over, so you'll need to adjust your ISO to compensate. This is normal for this camera due to the difference in power from these batteries and the ones originally intended for its use (long since banned due to mercury content). Anyway you'll need an adapter to use a LR44 in this camera, but without one it is still a usuable camera with the above faults considered (use sunny 16 or an external light meter). Anyway this isn't a fault but I thought it best explained because it confused me at first.

I've not tested the shutter speeds but they seem right by my eyeballs/ears. There doesn't appear to be a problem with the mirror. Due to these known issues (and I've yet to shoot it, so there might be others) I'm selling it on a strict no return basis. For spares or repairs. So again please bare this in mind when buying. I've tried my best to describe the camera as accurately as possible. Thanks for looking and happy bidding :)PS. I've estimated postage costs possibly a little high so I won't be out of pocket. I won't be refunding the difference, so again just include this into the price when buying.

Thanks again.
