THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND TOKEN…..DOCUMENTED VIRGINIA CITY MERCHANT, I TRACK HISTORIC COMP PRICES, AND HAVE SEEN THIS VARIETY SELL FOR OVER $250 A FEW YEARS AGO, PLUS BUYER FEES FROM A PROMINENT NORTHERN NEVADA AUCTION HOUSE...A GREAT TOKEN 

PROBABLY THE BEST RESOURCE (BY FAR) IN IDENTIFYING THESE OLD VIRGINIA CITY TOKENS IS "COINS OF THE COMSTOCK" (HOLABIRD) WHICH GIVES DETAILS THAT THIS WAS A BUSINESS WHICH OPERATED LIKELY IN THE 1913-1914 ERA, FAMED PROPRIETOR CORNELIUS "CON" AHERN RAN THE "VIRGINIA WINERY" LOCATED AT 42 SOUTH C STREET, A COUPLE DOORS DOWN FROM HIS FAMED "CRYSTAL SALOON" IN 1913. THIS BUSINESS WAS ALSO CONSIDERED A SALOON, WINE HOUSE AND SOLD GROCERIES (A NICE NEWSPAPER AD POSTED IN HOLABIRD BOOK)

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND TOKEN FROM THE TOWN OF VIRGINIA CITY. The town of Virginia City goes way back to 1860s, and was the largest town in the Comstock district, Virginia City is located not far from sister towns of Gold Hill, SIlver City, and near Carson City, Genoa, Gardnerville and Minden Nevada.

Serious collectors of Virginia City tokens and bottles know that all these old VC tokens tough to find, and its a beauty. AGAIN, A TOUGH ONE TO FIND, AND TRADITIONAL VC TOKENS SELL FOR WELL OVER BOOK. 

Trade token is brass, round,  about 21mm in diameter (dime sized variety) and it displays nicely in person. (please see pictures in gallery) This has never been cleaned, patina intact
