A delightful antique Meissen porcelain cup & saucer, c.1740-1814. It is depicting courting scenes. The rim of the cup and saucer have gilded decoration. The colors of hand painted pictures are impressive.  Both are marked with Meissen underglazed blue crossed swords that was in used from 1740 to 1814. The saucer is also impressed with a number 73. The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 5/8 inches in diameter without a handle. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
It is truly an exquisite piece on its own. The set is in excellent condition for its age with no damage to report.
