Vintage 1950-60s Mother of Pearl Shells & Wooden Beads String 16" Necklace,Complete,Very Good Condition.

This is a 16 inch Real Shell Necklace that was my late Great Auntie's,she travelled around the world as a child nurse for the rich when she was young in the 1950-70s so it could have come from anywhere in the world.

There is 7 x Mother of Pearl shells stringed together by a double string and 8 x wooden beads in between made in to a 16" long Necklace finished of with a Gold  Metal Clasp and a chain and a Mother of Pearl Bead on the end, it is complete and in a good condition for its age.

Nacre is the same substance that is deposited around an object that becomes lodged in the mollusk--either naturally or inserted by humans--to become a pearl.

Although pearls are popular today, some past cultures regarded colorful mother of pearl as a more desirable component for jewelry and other objects.
