All thermocouples are functionally tested prior to shipping. Therefore, be assured that no faulty items are ever supplied. If you find your flame still will not stay lit with the new thermocouple in place, remove the connection to the gas control valve and thoroughly clean it before re-trying ignition as this connection is usually the one at fault. Also check to ensure the thermocouple tip is sitting in the hot part of the flame before assuming another problem exists.


Brand New TOP QUALITY 900mm long Universal type thermocouple for use on Natural Gas Fires and cookers.

Replaces most existing thermocouples found on domestic gas fires, heaters and cookers, and some boilers, too.

Contents of pack are:- 
2 x 8 mm backnuts, 1 x 8 mm captive nut, 1 x adaptor nut 8 mm F x 10 mm M and 1 x 900mm long thermocouple with industry-standard button end connector.

The 8mm Fx10mm M adaptor nut allows the button end to fit 8mm or 10mm tapped Gas Control Valve inputs. If your GCV has a 9mm tapped hole, for an extra 75p at the time of order and payment, I can supply a 9mm split nut. Please contact me beforehand to organise. Note:- To fit a 9mm split nut, you will require to first cut off the 8mm nut.

For information, the overall length of the thermocouple body is 55mm, consisting of a 20mm long sensing tip, 5mm plain unthreaded length, 25mm threaded body and a further 5mm of plain body feeding into the output lead.

 

If your fire requires a shorter thermocouple than this, you can leave the excess length coiled-up inside your fire casing with no detrimental effect.
