Anything but prehistoric, CogniToys are Wi-Fi enabled, educational smart toy Dinosaurs that learn and grow with kids. Cloud-based and interactive, CogniToys become smarter with use and receive over the air content updates each week. The IBM Watson-powered Dinos tell stories, play games, answer questions and crack jokes to keep kids entertained for hours on end. The Dinos remember kids' names and favorite things like colors, animals and sports, allowing them to provide the kind of personalized play experience every kid deserves.

Each Dino comes with a variety of custom modules to engage kids in educational play including problem-solving challenges, geography games, historical fun facts and more. Once the Dino is configured using the CogniToys App, it presents age appropriate content from the first "hello!"

Personalized Learning Buddy
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
We wanted to build the type of toy that we would've wanted as kids. So, we submitted the concept of a toy that can speak, listen & grow with you to the IBM Watson Mobile Developer Challenge & we won!
What makes your product special?
Unlike other toys out there, CogniToys don't require a smart device after set up. Our ability to provide a screen-free, educational play experience ensures we can engage kids interactively through diolouge, questions & answers, and a wide variety of educational content.
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
We get to work with the world's most advanced language processing technology to do something amazing: Entertain and help young kids learn. We’ve been working with amazing technology from the start including Watson, 3D printers and custom hardware. We’ve spent the last 12 months tweaking and are proud that our first 5,000 Dinos have made their way home.
