-One OE Replaced Volvo 240 J-type Overdrive removed from a low mile 1980 245DL.   This is the final revision/version of the J-type, designed with ATF as the lubricant, though other oils can be used is my understanding. Please do your research.

-Volvo '75-'85 OE J type w/ speedometer drive.  The actual worm gear that drives the cable is not included, but the gear on the output shaft is present and the hole in the tail housing is present for the speedometer gear.  The gear on the output shaft I count 6? teeth (see photos), for the Volvo application I know of 6 and 7 tooth versions, I don't know which versions the Leyland cars commonly use, but I believe same depending on the car, please do your research.

-Final pressure setting is up to you to shim the unloader valve, I have no way to spin it fast enough with fluid going through it as it would be in the car to set that.

-Fresh o-rings, seals and gaskets wouldn't be a bad idea prior to installation. Mounting studs, nuts and lock washers on front gasket flange have been removed prior to shipment to prevent damage, but are included and easily reinstalled.  O-rings and gaskets are available new.  The piston o-rings still function, but have some flat spotting and should probably be replaced soon while the unit is out.  They air check well with the solenoid energized and the input shaft installed in the unit, solenoid works well, though o-rings inside and out are used otherwise and can be serviced with the OD unit installed in the car (pan comes off the bottom, solenoid is removable for its O-rings).  I only buy OE o-rings, I''ve had some problems with aftermarket versions.

-Run as-is or freshen up some o-rings and inspect it, see photos in detail.

Pictured is what you will receive.
