Christofle MARLY Silverplate Tablespoon 8 15/16" - no monograms

This may be considered a European place oval soup spoon.

Since 1830, Christofle has mastered the art of working with silver, rendering that material sublime and special: it is shiny without ostentation, intelligent without pretense, and versatile yet sincere.

Created in 1897, this pattern owes its name to the Marly chateau built near Paris by Louis XIV as a pleasure palace, no longer standing today. Marly is one of the most elaborately decorated patterns of the collection; the fine chasing of its asymmetrical plant motifs, typical of the “Rocaille” or Louis XV style, highlight the silversmith’s expertise and attention to detail.

Heavy weight, this estate item is used and not sold as new.
