Here's a wonderful little blast from the past. This very rare vintage tin lithograph toy from the 1950s is called "Cappy the Happy Baggage Porter" and was made in Japan by ALPS. This toy features a floppy-eared dog pulling a two-wheeled luggage cart that contains a suitcase. The toy is fairly large and measures approx. 12"L x 10"H x 4"W.  There is no box and this auction is for the toy only.

The toy has not been tested and is in unknown working condition. When working, Cappy squats and then straightens up pulling the cart behind him using the rubber pads on his feet to move along, all the while moving his head back and forth. The person we bought it from claimed that when he put it in storage over 20 years ago, he tested it and it was working at that time. However, we feel it will most likely need some restoration in order to get it to work.

The colors on the cart and suitcase are still bright and cheerful, but the toy has a number of condition issues beyond being in an unknown working condition. Even with the known condition issues listed below, though, this toy is a lot of fun and would make an excellent display/conversation piece. Our low starting price for this auction reflects those issues.

Known condition issues
