Such was the need for fighting knives during WW2 that many US servicemen crafted custom "theater made" fighting knives while stationed overseas. This US Army WW2 CUSTOM THEATER MADE FIGHTING KNIFE DAGGER is in good condition, with a deep downward bend to the blade tip, some sharpening and grinding to the blade edges, some scattered patina at each side of the blade and guard, three scattered indents to the handle, a small crack in each side of the bottom handle spacer, and with some overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the dagger is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 5.75" dagger blade, sports a handle of interspersed brown leather and olive hardwood washers, and boasts an aluminum guard and pommel. The dagger is complete with the original leather scabbard in good condition, with a complete tear in the right end tip, some light scratching at the middle front body, some spot scuffing at the front throat, some wrinkling to the front belt hanger, and with some overall darkening and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the scabbard is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it bears a fully functional leather handle retention strap, carries "MADE IN / SHEFFIELD ENGLAND" very faintly stamped at the middle front belt hanger, and is hand named to "TAYLOR" at back, along with his service number, "ASN-37539076".
