Up for consideration is a pair of black Sony SS-HA1 speakers. 

These are true 3-way bookshelf speaker with 2 tweeters (one on top and one on the front baffle). Aluminum construction (except the front and top/bottom), surprisingly solid.

When used with proper isolation system (I use Vibrapods) the bass extension is surprisingly deep. The top is airy to say the least. One of the best hidden gems, especially for a Sony.
