Made in Scotland 100% Cashmere Beanie Hat

Cashmere means warmth and luxury, the most superior of natural fibres.

Made in Hawick of the Scottish Borders the knitwear industry are built a tradition of knitting with Cashmere to a very high standard of craftsmanship.

The story of Cashmere began before Christ was born, when some of the people of Kashmir began to move eastward into inner Mongolia, taking with them their herds of goats. Cashmere

comes from goats and is a rare natural fibre of limited supply with a history of one of the oldest and finest natural fibres.

The raw Cashmere fibre orders comes from these goats and is gathered  by hand combing the delicate fine undercoat of the goat in the spring of each year. This fine fibre provides insulation

and warmth for the goats from the extreme winter climate they experience though the winter.

However, nature is economical, and goats only grow a small amount of this cashmere hair each year, this is why cashmere fibre is so scarce and highly valued.

In the nineteenth century Scottish traders imported raw fibres to create Cashmere knitwear that has become famous throughout the world.

Because of the pure waters from the Scottish Borders rivers which are used in the washing process, they produce Cashmere knitwear of unparalleled softness and  warmth.
