This is a leaf of early printing from an Ulenberg Bible, Paul's first letter to Timothy Chapters 1-3, an edited version of The Dietenberger Bible which was published in 1534 in Mainz. It was the first full-Catholic Bible with new and Old Testament published the same year Martin Luther finished his Bible. The Cologne Archbishop Ferdinand of Bavaria assigned noted theologian Casper Ulenberg make the translation of Dietenberger Bible which he completed shortly before his death 1617. This version, printed in 1705 is one of two editions printed in Bamberg Germany during the 18th century. The linguistic changes in the various editions of the Dietenberger-Ulenberg Bible remained relevant until the late 18th Century. Until that time it was the most common Bible translation in all German Catholic regions. The small folio sized leaf measures 275 x 220 mm. in totality and contains various lines of German text is printed double column in a Gothic fraktur typeface. There is an 8-line historiated letter at the beginning of the text. The verso contains the same type and layout. (Darlow & Moule 4200) This leaf contains staining.
