Classic warm Neumann sound in a dual capsule (2 KM84 mounted back to back) design that permits the use of a omni, cardioid or figure of eight polar pattern. Excellent for studio work as well as concert recording.
Neumann's description of the KM76:
Two back to back, individual capsules permit the three directional characteristics: omni, cardioid and figure-8 to be electrically selected by means of a switch located below the capsule head. The KM76 is especially noteworthy in that it reproduces low frequencies equally well for all three directional characteristics even at great distance from the sound source. High frequency response is virtually linear both in the diffuse as well as the free sound field.
