OLYMPUS 55mm NEUTRAL DENSITY (ND4x) FILTER.

THE FILTER IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT REACHING THE FILM. THIS HAS SEVERAL USES -

1) IT ENABLES SLOW SHUTTER SPEEDS TO BE USED ESPECIALLY WITH FAST FILMS TO RECORD MOVEMENT IN SUBJECTS SUCH AS WATERFALLS, CLOUDS, CARS, SEA ETC

 2) DECREASES DEPTH OF FIELD BY ALLOWING WIDER APERTURES TO BE USED WHICH HELPS SEPARATE SUBJECTS FROM THEIR BACKGROUND.

3) DECREASES THE EFFECTIVE ISO OF HIGH SPEED FILM AND ALLOWS YOU TO USE IT OUTDOORS IN BRIGHT CONDITIONS.

 4) ALLOWS CINE AND VIDEO CAMERAS WHICH HAVE FIXED SHUTTER SPEEDS TO FILM SUBJECTS SUCH AS SNOW, SAND ETC WHERE THEY WOULD NORMALLY OVER-EXPOSE.

THE FILTER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION - CLEANED AND CHECKED.

We sell (and have sold) a LOT of used filters (and have many many  thousands still to list….when we find time). Each filter is cleaned and checked prior to putting it up for sale, and if we are not happy with the condition it does not make it into our eBay shop. If there are any heavy scratches on the glass or any coating issues that could cause quality problems then we reject it. If the filter threads are damaged we reject it. If we just don’t like the look of it we reject it – we are fussy because we know our customers can be too. By definition these filters are “Used” so there may be the odd light surface mark on the glass – if we are happy that it will not impact greatly on the performance of the filter then we will list it with the appropriate description.

When we started out on eBay over 10 years ago we just sold used filters so please feel confident that you can trust our judgement to decide what is saleable / usable and what is not.
