Trumpeter 1/72 M26A1 Pershing US Heavy Tank 20mm Scale Brand new, sealed and unbuilt.

The M26 Pershing tank was introduced in February 1945 after the US had concentrated it's efforts on the production of the M4 Sherman. Given the Sherman's weaknesses, the Pershing's development was continued with limited numbers serving with Omar Bradley's 12th Army Group in the 3rd and 9th Armoured Divisions. Pershings saw limited service but were known to have destroyed German heavy tanks in the closing stages of WWII. The M26 also served in Korea where it and it's derivative, the M46, were credited with half of the T-34 kills claimed by the US Armoured Corps. The M4A3E8 was responsible for the other half. Later M26 also served with the Belgian armed forces in the 1950s eventually being phased out in 1969. The M26A1 was armed with the M3 90mm gun with bore evacuator single baffle muzzle brake and carried 70 rounds. Whether for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a beauty. Not to be missed.
