Description
A late 19th or early 20th century Siamese silver bowl with Chinese marks to the reverse made in the Kanok (sugar cane leaf) style for the colonial market. These items are usually lower grade than Sterling silver at around 90/100. Elaborate repousse work with arabesque style to the leaves divided by triangular reserves. Chased detail to base and around the rim. Chinese and local marks stamped to the base. A nice looking example.
Condition
Generally good with minor wear. Some black corrosion spots to interior which should remove with careful polishing.
