Sorry, I am not an expert in large format cameras and lenses, but I'll try to describe the lens which I own for auction...

This is a large format lens issued at USSR in 1966 at famous KMZ plant at Krasnogorsk city.

Really I don't know for which device it was issued, but it looks that it was made for 18x24mm large format camera.

This is a perfect large format lens for copying paintings, art work, car photography, and landscape photography, or any work that requires incredible definition.

Presented lens is a Soviet version of famous Carl Zeiss Tessar.

ITEM'S CONDITION: EXCELLENT-

The lens looks enough accurately used before, but 57 years is serious age...

The lens is enough clean to produce nice images, without scratches, separations or fungus, but you will find some cleaning marks at front & rear optical element.

 Aperture rotates smoothly.

The lens is in fine condition cosmetically, just examine item's photos please.

All functions are available.

NOTE: Soviet lens manufacturers wrote even about NEW lenses:

"The components of modern high quality lenses are produced from special grades of glass. The smelting process involved causes inevitable formation of gasses which get trapped in the glass to form bubbles. They are always noticed with complex photographic lenses. The bubbles do not affect the lens performance or the quality of the image. Soviet state standards also allows the presence of next minor defects: scratches with the width less than 0.02mm at each surface of each optical element with total length no more than double element's diameter; dots with diameter less than 0.3mm no more than 5 dots; several minor pieces of dust and no more 2 napkin fibers with the length no more 3mm. Therefore, the factory does not accept claims about bubbles and minor defects of clearance found in lenses or exchange such lenses."

TECHNICAL FEATURES

* The lens is signed: I-37 P F=40cm 1:4.5 No 59415

* Coated optics with Russian symbol "n" (it sounds like P=prosvetlenije, this symbol was removed since beginning of 1960s, when all Russian optics became coated).

* Focus: 300 mm

* Angle of view: 53 degrees.

* Format: it will cover up to 18x24 cm format.

* Resolution (in pairs of lines per 1 mm at full opened aperture): not less than 22 in the center and 5 on the edge of frame.

* Optical registration: 287.84 mm.

* Aperture: scale begins at 4.5, up to 64, no clicks.

* Aperture consist off 21 elements and provides very accurate circular shape at all installed meanings.

* Filter mount is screw-mount 76x0.75mm, but it looks that the lens should accept external 85mm spring-mount (push-up) filters only.

* Camera's mount requires additional fastening nut 80x0.75mm diameter.

* The lens was made in 1959 in Russia at KMZ plant (the town of Krasnogorsk near the Moscow city).

If you need really fast shipping, DHL and UPS are available here, but shipping a metal 35mm camera can cost over $100, thus this kind of shipping is rarely used.

All items are packed in solid carton boxes with soft material inside to protect your item on its long way to your home.

We mark all the packages and parcels as a "Gift", with low custom's value, thus You'll have the chance avoid extra taxes at Your country. However Custom's officers can have own opinion regarding it and can require taxes, it will not our problem, sorry please.

Tracking numbers are available now, but mostly we can track our packages inside Russia only, then you can look for it at national postal service of your country... just ask me please if you need the tracking number.
