This is an auction for an original 1935 Gents "Aeroplane" watch which is a total time warp set as its got the original box and all its papers as well as an original small bill flyer or poster which is just wonderful and although its damaged and wripped across some what from being folded its still almost 100% complete so it would frame up wonderfully well and be a great display item like the whole set.
The watch was bought for quite a lot as an estate find and was bought as un-opened and not going so was a "pig in a poke" but the gamble sort of worked out and when opened the watch was all as it was new but all the oil solid and solidified, I do not think it had run since the 1930's. So i had it completel stripped down and serviced with a good pal who is a long time certified BHI expert and its now working as it should be, though I never sell a pre 1960's watch with a warrantee its working just fine and its even marked with a plane on the movement.

This watch though not one I have encountered before is clearly a product of the huge interest in early solo flights which evolved in the late 1920's with Charles Lindbergh and continued in the Uk with Amy Johnson CBE, this is clear to see by the image of the plane they have used as well as the tag line on the top of the box "Built for Reliability"

Now sadly must be sold for ever expensive children.........

Sold now as a great display set and will be a good addition to any collection being such a good time warp.

Great set with seriously cool original box & papers as well as an advertising poster (complete poster but damaged)
Size: approx 29 mm across not including the winding crown & takes a 18 mm open strap.
Any questions please ask.
All no reserve auctions we list run all the way so please do not ask for buy now prices as we came to ebay as buyers which I still do on occasion and the thing I dislike most is when items I am watching get sold off ebay and auctions stopped, it seems wrong so now that we are clearing out and selling some items we play by the rules and over the last few years we have turned down some good offers only for those people to buy the item in the end very cheaply, they usually then buy again but at the very least know we are some of the good guys...........
