Brand new and unbuilt. Ref : PS720180 A superb quick build kit of the French Renault R35 light tank which includes two vehicles in the box. In the early stages of WWII the Renault R35 was the most numerous of French tanks. It had been designed to replace the FT-17 although with insufficient trained crews, many FT-17 remained in service. On 1st September 975 Renault R35 were in service. The French supplied Renault R35 to both Poland and Romania. Following the fall of France in 1940, 843 of these French tanks were pressed into service by the occupying German army for security duties as well as being supplied to their Axis partners such as Italy and Bulgaria. On 6th June 1944, Renault R35 were amongst the first units sent to Saint Mere Eglise to oppose the American airborne landings on D-Day in Normandy. The Renault R35 was armed with the 37mm SA18 gun and was crewed by 2 men. These are fairly basic but well detailed kits which make them ideal for the novice, the wargamer or the modeller who enjoys playing with conversions. There are around 30 parts to each kit.Includes decals & photo etched parts.
