Please watch out for dinosaur eggs that are offered for sale from Malaysia. We have spoken directly to buyers and we also see many reconstructed specimens offered on the internet. Most of what we see are made up eggs from real dinosaur shell but are NOT a REAL natural dinosaur egg fossil! If you look at them very closely you can tell the difference. We do give these "fakers" credit, they are getting better at reproducing the made-up eggs.Please don't get fooled, they are only worth what shell fragments sell for.

YES!!! Here is your opportunity to become the new owner of this "VERY IMPRESSIVE" HIGH QUALITY Hadrosaur Egg. This Genuine Fossil Dinosaur Egg, along with several other specimens were legally imported (many years ago before China stopped allowing fossils to leave their country). Because of this, we believe legally acquired Chinese dinosaur eggs and fossils will continue to appreciate in value as time goes on. Please keep in mind that each of our eggs come with a Letter of Authenticity. If someone wanted to take the time to chip away more of the rock matrix and expose more of the egg, this could be the perfect specimen to use. You can actually see how the form of the egg continues through on the side section of the matrix. We have several photos of all angles, including the top and bottom of this egg.
This particular piece was originally part of a Hadrosaur Egg Nest of 5 Eggs. You can see a photo of the nest in our last image. The specimen of 5 eggs obviously were too large and expensive for most collectors. The nest of 5 eggs was originally designated for sale to the Crater Rock and Mineral Museum, but they purchased a large fossil skull instead. We separated the eggs in the nest and now we're offering single egg specimens to the general public. If you are a Museum Curator or High-End Private Collector who desires a HIGH QUALITY Specimen, this could be the fossil egg that should suit your desires.
This egg is of a Hadrosaur Dinosaur which was a member of the family of duck-billed, herbivorous dinosaurs. This Dino Egg still has almost all of its original shell still attached. You don't find very many Hadrosaur eggs in this price range that are as nice as this one which are ready to display without further restoration!
Please be aware that many people selling dinosaur eggs on the internet are simply taking damaged eggs (such as half of an egg) and placing mud around the bottom to cause it to appear as though it's sitting in original matrix. Our specimen IS in its Original Rock Matrix! As always, you generally get what you pay for. If it's too good to be true, it's usually not authentic. This Hadrosaur Egg is very Handsome and Displays Very Well just as it is without any further work! It is a BEAUTIFUL specimen.

Hadrosaurs date back to the Cretaceous Period (65-84 million years). Hadrosaur eggs are found with greatest frequency in Shandong, Henan, and Guangdong Provinces of China. The word Hadrosaur means "Bulky Lizard". It was thought to have a large brain, a wide and flat snout. Hadrosaur was a bipedal dinosaur with strong large hind legs, with short but strong front legs and with hoof-like claws. They may have walked on all four legs while grazing. Their rapidly replaced teeth suggest that Hadrosaurs fed on tough terrestrial plants. They ranged in size from 10 to 40 feet long with most Hadrosaurs measuring about 23 to 30 feet long. The Hadrosaur dinosaur had a muscular tail that may have helped with balance or served as a swimming paddle. They most likely spent the majority of their time on land, though close to bodies of water, and migrating to high ground to lay eggs.
This was a highly social dinosaur and nested communally.

This Larger Size Hadrosaur Dinosaur Egg measures approx. 5 3/8" inches at its longest by about 4 3/4" inches at its widest point and is approx. 4 3/4" inches thick. We have images of this specimen taken next to a cola can as well as held in an adult male's hand to help give you a better idea of the actual size.
