10x12mm Pink Kasumi-like Freshwater Pearl Earrings

Large 10x12mm radiant baroque drop shaped freshwater pearls hung from Karen yellow gold vermeil ear wires. The earrings measure a 3.3cm drop.

The pearls are large, pink-coloured, amazing quality bead nucleated cultured pearls with a thick imperfect nacre, a radiant luster and a rainbow overglow.

This type of pearls are new, produced in a similar manner to Kasumi and South Sea pearls, and the result is a pearl that is similar to the wonderful warm high luster of South Sea pearls and the dimpled silky texture of Lake Kasumi pearls. The Chinese are culturing these pearls from the same mussel used in Lake Kasumi-ga-Ura.

The Karen ear wires and fittings are from Chiang-mai, in the north of Thailand. They are made from 24K yellow gold plated onto silver and although they are not hallmarked, the silver is more than 95% pure silver, which is higher than sterling silver.
