NATIVE AMERICAN BOLO TIE NECKLACE

STERLING SILVER, TURQUOISE

SIGNED and STAMPED

95 grams

This is the first time I saw an inlay bolo tie so big... And yes, it is the largest Dancer of the Collection. The only one who stands by himself, like a real dancer, to be displayed like a collector's piece, which it is...

It is made by the ZUNI artist JONATHAN BEYUKA. He follows the path of his father Eddie Beyuka and makes some amazing INLAY creations, following the tradition of the village. He made the incredible DANCERS collection, in different sizes, especially smaller.

This SNAKE DANCER BOLO is rare. The most common ones are the smallest ones. They do not have a stand and they are in multi stones/shell inlay. So this one is the largest one and it is truly big, almost 6", and it is all in turquoise. All in SLEEPING BEAUTY with its unmatchable blue.

The work and the effect are fantastic. The turquoise are hand cut. Some are raised and hand carved. Some are flat. The artist used different tones of blue. A hint of a lighter tone for the body of the Dancer. Truly intense vivid blue for the costume. The result is an incredible three dimensional effect. Even more accentuated with the snakes wrapping themselves around the Dancer. The hand stamped sterling silver snakes go in his back, by his shoulder, around the neck... They are fully alive following each movement of the Dancer...

Then the tips of the bolo, like a rattle, dangle and move with their Sleeping Beauty inlay.

To admire the piece and give it full justice you can place the Snake Dancer on its stand. It is a 1 1/4" half oval sterling silver stand with Sleeping Beauty inlay on the front... And the Dancer dance... To the sound of the drums of a Native American music CD...

The bolo tie is 5 3/4" long

It is 3" wide

The black leather cord is 35" long

The tips are 2 1/4" long -  1" long sterling silver tips + 1 1/4" dangling inlays parts.
