SHQ Miniatures British Scammell Pioneer R100 British Artillery Tractor 20mm Scale New, sealed and unbuilt.
Ref No : BV80 The Scammell Pioneer R100 was a British heavy truck used as an artillery tractor for medium and heavy artillery. Medium artillery pieces included the 60 pounder, 6" Howitzer and even the 4.5" and 5.5" Howitzers. Heavy artillery towed included the BL 6" gun, 8" Howitzer, 155mm Long Tom and the 7.2" Howitzer. Scammell produced 980 Pioneer R100 by the end of WWII although by 1943 they were joined by Albion CX22S tractors The R100 was also the basis for the Heavy Breakdown 6x4 Scammell Pioneer designated the SV1S and SV1T both with a folding 3 ton crane. Most were lost in France. The Pioneer SV2S had a simpler redesigned extending crane and this remained in production throughout WWII with 1,975 being produced. Equipment included a pair of tracks that fitted over the rear wheels to convert it to a half track and provide greater traction on soft ground. After WWII many remaining in civilian service as haulage, forestry and recovery vehicles. The last British Army Pioneer Recovery tractor was retired in 1980 in Belize. Metal cast kit.
