I believe this to be a 1946 flat bottom, corner slash, pat 2032695, square top, square corners, early 3 Barrel Zippo Lighter.  This beauty features a very well worn metallique emblem for BPOE ( The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) on the back side and you can see where there used to be metallique initials on the front which are no longer there.  I was not able to get the insert out of this lighter (it is stuck and I will leave removal to the new owner if you wish) so I could not verify the date of the insert.  That said - I believe it is an early insert but NOT correct to this lighter.  It is a 16 hole, diagonal cut, hollow wheel in very good lightly used condition, so i would date it a few years after the case (possibly replaced during repair)..

This lighter is in good worn condition and has some marks and brassing as shown in the pictures.  This is a  USED lighter which is well worn and is sold in "as is" and " as found" condition, please review all pictures which are a part of the description.

I have been advised that this lighter is not a 1946 but is a 1936. Zippo stopped the corner slashes after 1938, Also, it was originally a 4 barrel hinge that was replaced with a 3 barrel, probably in the 1960s. Thank you for your interest.
