Fine large 16th century full length portrait of an Elizabethan Boy & His Dog, oil on canvas. Stunning early and important interior portrait of the immaculately dressed boy, possibly the son of a court member of Elizabeth I, accompanied by his dog wearing a ruff and cape. Excellent condition for its age retaining its original detail and tones, no signs of over cleaning, fine natural craquelure throughout and has been well cared for all of its life. Magnificent early work that rarely comes to public sale. Presented in a superb antique renaissance style frame.
