ABOUT OUR CD GRADING
We use a 10 point system to provide you with a more accurate and precise grade for the condition of each CD we sell.
We only buy and sell high quality discs, avoiding deeply scratched or scuffed CDs; trashed, torn or soiled booklets are also rejected.
Below is a simplified general guide to how we rate the condition of our CDs and inserts.
(Other factors not mentioned may play a role in the calculation of the final score.)
(Please keep in mind this is a subjective scale and we deal primarily in older vintage items, so things like booklet yellowing that can be expected may not necessarily be included in the rating.)
- CD rated "10": flawless, as new. A "9" may have a tiny mark or two barely visible. (= ebay's "Like New" grade)
- CD rated "8": a few very minor marks, no scuffs, extremely clean CD for its age (= the top of ebay's "Very Good" scale).
- CD rated "5": Several light marks and possibly a light scuff; still above average and collectible. (= bottom of ebay's "Very Good" scale).
- CD rated "3": Typical "used CD" you see in the shops, plays fine but has standard amount of wear for its age. (= ebay's "Good" grade)
- Inserts rated "10": flawless as new.
- Inserts rated "8": very light wear, no tab dents, superb for its age.
- Inserts rated "5": possibly a light tab dent and a bit of wear or a crease, still a nice above average copy.
- Inserts rated "3": possible tab dents, plus more visible wear seen on typical vintage CDs.
