has a well balanced selection of easy to play

experienced musicians.
Q: What's the difference between the different types of mandolin?
A: The F-Style and A-Style pioneered by Gibson are best suited to bluegrass and country music because of their short
sustaining qualities. The Celtic or Folk Flatback as the name suggests is ideal for general folk music where a longer sustain
is the requirement. The Neopolitan bowl or Roundback tends to take care of the classical repetoire. Then you have Electric or
Semi-Acoustic models which have found a home in rock/pop and recording setups. Some electrics also feature single courses
rather than double courses of strings. All however, tend to use standard GDAE tuning featured in this chord dictionary.
Q: Do you do a Chord Bible

"If you're looing for an absurdly comprehensive chord dictionary for the mandolin, this is quite
definitely the book for you. I had a good look round at the varying titles that are currently
available and found most covered the basics, but never had the range of chords I was really
looking for. If you play guitar, you're pretty well served with a whole wealth of super comprehensive
chord books, but for mandolin, it's a different story. In this book, Richards very much redresses the
balance in this respect, with everything from the usual, but very necessary majors, minors, dims,
sevenths etc., right up to wonderfully weird extended elevenths, thirteenths etc. It also provides
a great source for experimenters wanting to get a different sound from their instrument. Additionally,
the author provides very useful slash chords in all keys, plus easy referenced moveable chord shapes
to augment the main body of the book. For the greedy, there are also sections on mando history,
chord construction, fretboard and tuning diagrams. A must have title for we mandomaniacs!
