The item measures approx, 14.5cm(5.6") by 8.5cm(3.25") by 1cm (0.5") and weighs 192.8g or 6.795oz. 

The item bears a full set of Chester hallmarks including the "R" date letter for 1917.
The item also bears the manufacturer mark of ""C.C" for
"Colen Hewer Cheshire" one time of Northampton St Birmingham.

The Gold inlay and case open button bear 9ct (0.935) solid gold hallmarks.

The item was manufactured to accept standard cigarettes, not kingsize or superkings. It would also suit hand rolled cigarettes.

The item is in a very good general condition with firm hinges and a secure closing action.
There is one tiny area of loss to the gold inlay at one corner.
The interior has been personalised.
