Up for sale is this estate rescued Bell & Howell Auto Load Filmo 16mm Movie Camera with a leather hand strap and leather case!
This camera is in very good condition for its age! The only thing we can find wrong with it is that the eye cup around the viewfinder has become brittle and is partially missing as seen in the photos.
The crank to wind up the camera rotates easily and when the trigger is pressed the motor runs smoothly.
This camera has a 2 position trigger. When pressed up it shoots one frame, then when pressed down it takes a continuous movie.
This camera is equipped with a Bell & Howell Ansix f2.5 ELC Lens. The aperture in this lens opens and closes easily with a twist of the lens. The lens also removes easily.
This camera is a variable speed camera. The speed is set from a small dial on the side of the camera. When we rotated this dial the sound of the speed change was obvious!
This camera is very clean as you can see in the photos. To open the film compartment there is a recessed latch in the back. Both the top and bottom of the latch need to be squeezed together at the same time then the door pops open. We found that when the door is open and the trigger is pressed, the shutter locks part way open possibly for cleaning.
This camera has a ready reference on the side for different speeds of film and conditions. There is also a window to view what type of cartridge is inserted.
The included hand strap is in excellent condition! It has a leather strap which is held in place by a large screw that attaches to the tripod mount threads.
Also included is the original Bell & Howell leather case! The case has a shoulder strap that is still solid. It has a latch is spring loaded onto a post to keep it closed.
