This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. From 1917 to 1921, Kromo Gravure produced a series of movie star cards. Cards hadn't yet been issued with gum, but were available with a variety of other products. Many were just issued on their own. Kromo Gravure issued several sets of photos that were available over the counter in packages of 50 cards for a dime. The cards are black and white, printed on heavy paper stock, blank-backed, measuring 2 1/8" x 3 1/4". The actors in this set represent stars of the early silent screen, largely forgotten today. For that reason alone, these sets are very, very popular with movie buffs. One borderless set of 50, four sets of 50 with white borders, and two more sets of 50 with squared-off corners like the others, but with rounded corners to the photo images, were issued. This card pictures actor Bryant Washburn. This card is from the slightly scarcer "Round corner photo" series - See scan for condition. Not bad for a card that's almost a century old! This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Payment is via PayPal; shipping is $2.25 for First Class Mail, and postage will be combined for multiple winnings.
