Here's another auction by
Lone Star Trains and Collectibles,
Your Classic Era Train Headquarters!
You are looking at a Lionel 6-8999 aquarium car with the fish swimming around, and if you look closely, you notice that this car is full of a pink Salmon load. It lights up the scroll of swimming fish and friends around the car, as the scroll rotates while the car moves down the track. The neat thing about this one is that it is driven by a simple gear on the truck rather than a noisy motor that could break.
THIS one was a special car commissioned by the Houston Tinplate Operators Society. It was actually the first car they offered. The paint job was done by RGS Graphics, a professional outfit that repainted cars. I especially like the decoration--the car looks like the state of Texas flag. Would be a natural addition to your Texas Special train.

How cool is it to add to your classic train collection or layout?
I especially like that they kept this one really close to the 1950's classic by using the same car mold. Run this one and save that postwar original on the shelf.
CONDITION: Looks new with instructions. Box shows some light shelfwear. Car does not appear to have been on the rails. Still has the cardboard protector on the axles.
This is just what you need for your Lionel collection or your aquarium car collection. CHECK OUT OUR OTHER LISTINGS FOR THE MERMAID VERSION.
