This is an lovely quality sterling silver Antique Victorian circa 1890 Scottish gemstone brooch.

I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.

The stones are classic deep red jaspers from the Campsie fells in Stirlingshire.

The brooch has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for pieces of this period, but has been fully tested and is sterling silver. The width is 3.5 cm ( One and two fifth inches ) and the C clasp and pin are in good working condition although the C clasp is not original.
