GORGEOUS VINTAGE
LONG GOWN + ROBE PEIGNOIR SET

This is a very beautiful vintage peignoir set from the USA, by up-market lingerie makers Jonquil, on their 'In Bloom' label. It's in superb condition and would be perfect for your wedding night or other special occasion!
In palest ivory (almost white!), the gown is made from soft, totally sheer, drapey chiffon, with matching lace trims.
The gown is beautifully styled, with a flattering empire bodice. This is in stretchy spandex for a great fit, with a soft lace overlay and long rouleau satin ties at the sides so you can adjust it for a perfect fit. There is appliquéd cut-lace edging at the neckline with a sparkly diamond* charm and bow at the centre, and more fancy lace appliqués (each with a diamond centre!) below the stylish twin satin shoulder straps - see photos. The skirt of the gown flares from pretty gathers beneath the bust and has a huge hemline sweep of 108" - the soft floaty chiffon drapes perfectly!
To match is a long peignoir robe, also in totally sheer chiffon. It's a classic wrapover style with fabulous flared angel sleeves and neat satin binding all round. It has a little inner tie so it hangs nicely and a maching sash belt. Please note - I photographed the wrong belt by mistake! The one in the photos is satin but the robe actually has a matching chiffon belt. (Sorry about that!)
Size notes: the set is labelled XL, and the gown suits a larger 38 or about 40-44" bust. The robe is a similar size and can be worn open of course. Both pieces are 54" long, shoulder to hem.
The set is in excellent condition, with crisp, original inner labels and laundered for freshness. I spied a small mark, like the adhesive left from a small sticker, right down near the hem/side seam of the gown and a couple of teensy pulls but apart from that, both garments look new! (Please see photos.)
A superb vintage set with elegant styling - it looks really glamourous on - very romantic and totally feminine! Highly recommended.
* Real diamonds? Well probably not, but they certainly sparkle!
