| This pair of antique Victorian era David Feller label wedding white silk bow trim straight sole shoes date from 1880. They are made of a white silk fabric, with decorative silk bow trim on the instep vamp. These lovely ladies slipper shoes have a slip on slipper style with squared toes, straight leather bottom soles with no left or right distinction and a low silk covered French Louis XV high heel. There is a "David Feller Successor to Henry Wireman Ladies Boot & Shoe Maker, 118 S. 13th St., Philadelphia" paper label inside one shoe. The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 1/4 inches wide, with 2 inch high heels. They are in fair as-is condition, with frayed splits along the silk sides, edging and toes. These delicate wedding slippers were probably reserved for indoor wear, evening dress or special occasions. These are truly a rare and quality made shoe great for display! |
