Gorgeous Vintage EARLY Precious Moments (?) Soft Sculpture BRIDE & GROOM Puppet DOLL pair - suspended on SATIN SWING - seam tag has gold paper label "crafted in Korea for Amram's Canada" - no Prec Moments labelling - iconic embroidered teardrop eyes - satin gown & tuxedo - VGC
Dimensions: overall length = 26 inches. Dolls = 9 inches tall sitting. Satin swing seat = 7 inches x 2 3/4 inches. "Invisible" puppet strings = 6 1/2 inches long. Swing cotton ropes = 15 inches long top satin bar to satin swing seat. Drop (distance from top of hanger rope to top of top satin bar = 8 inches
Condition: Very Good pre-owned Vintage. Dolls are soft sculpture from fabric, embroidered facial features & stuffed with reclaimed fibres & crushed nut shells. Bride's gown is white/cream satin trimmed with lace, net veil trimmed with lace. Groom's top hat, tails (jacket) & shoes are black satin, pants are grey & black striped cotton fabric. Both have yarn hair, her's is yellow & elaborately styled, his is light brown. Dolls are sewn to the satin swing seat & suspended by their heads with "invisible" fishing-line like strings from the top satin bar. Swing's cotton ropes are clean & white with no breaks. Some light surface dust on parts of the dolls, especially noticeable on net veil, but no stains, no wear, no fading, no tears, no holes. Seam tag on side of satin swing seat simply says "Made in Korea" with material info in French & English. Gold paper label on seam tag shows "Crafted in Korea for Amram's Toronto, Canada" in French & English. They definitely have the Precious Moments "look" but no references to Precious Moments. Amram's was established in 1985. This was around the start date of Precious Moments, but I'm not sure when the dolls/soft sculpture began or who distribution was licensed to in Canada. Great gift for a wedding or shower!
