Traditional blue herringbone Spanish espadrilles.

These espadrilles are made in Northern Spain and are hand stitched.

Please note these espadrilles are made from a woven canvas with a herring-bone pattern. The sole of the espadrilles is fully covered with a rubber sole.

 

Once considered peasant footwear, espadrilles have grown in popularity, especially in Catalonia and the Basque Country, where many men and women wear them during the spring and summer months.

The term espadrille is French and comes from the Catalan name for a tough, wiry Mediterranean grass used in making rope. They've been made in Catalonia since the 14th century and there are Catalonian shops still in existence that have been making espadrilles for over a century

 

The soles of espadrilles are now commonly made with jute rope or braid, which is favoured because of its eco-friendliness compared to synthetic substances.

What size should I choose?

To help you in your size choice, you should measure your feet by following these easy instructions.

• Place an A4 sheet of paper on a hard flat surface
• Place your foot on the paper
• Take a pen & mark the paper at the end of your big toe and heel
• Measure the distance from the toe to heel marks
• Compare your measurements with the chart below

For all UK deliveries we use a courier in Spain called Offrex, who collect and have the parcel flown from Spain direct to the Royal mail sorting offices in the UK. All postage costs shown on the UK parcels are for within the UK only, the Spanish courier will have been paid for shipping to the UK.

For worldwide parcels, the Spanish postal system, Correos is used.

We aim to post within 2 working days after receipt of your payment.

Please note:

Due to extra security measures in the United states, parcels being sent to the U.S.A. can take up to one month to clear customs. If you wish your parcel to sent to the United States, I recommend that you have the parcel certified. Certification of your parcel is available at an extra cost of 2.50 pounds.
