You are bidding on Cottage Plans. You will be receiving an easy-to-understand, color booklet of Do It Yourself Instructions that will enable you to build a Vermont Cottage Option A in your choice of size from your own materials. Your Plans will include step by step instructions, a materials list, a cut list, and rafter templates for hassle-free construction.

Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc. engineers all of our cottage plans to be geared toward do-it-yourself homeowners who understand the basics of framing a building or professional contractors.  The plans are set up in an easy-to-understand format and are not blueprint in style.

The trigonometry of the roof triangles is simplified with traceable cut-out roof templates.  The proper wall heights and roof pitches that keep the structure proportionate and aesthetically pleasing are separated so that a professional can bypass the explanations. 

The plans do not provide a beginner carpenter with the knowledge of how to build.  What they do provide is a clear step-by-step process for assembling the structure.  The plans are set up for true dimensional lumber and include a material list and a highly detailed cut list and are the same plans that match our part-numbered and color-coded pre-cut kits which are available on our website.

Rugged post and beam techniques passed down through the centuries are at the foundation of this sturdy, picturesque retreat reminiscent of old New England. Geared for those with beginner carpentry skills, and basic carpentry tools are required. Technical support is provided via our toll-free support line. The cottage takes approximately two people forty hours to assemble.
