LOB 318mm. Half-size violin labeled Copy of Antonius Stradivarius. This particular 1/2 size violin sounds as good as other 1/2 and 3/4 size French violins that we have in our collection. Also, the condition is unbelievable for a violin that is about 100 years old, especially if you consider that it was always handled by children(they might not have practiced too much lol)! Although it was most likely made for a young player that really deserved to have a real violin in a fractional size, this is not a VSO. This instrument has sound quality as good as very good quality full-size violin and even the volume is not that much smaller. This violin is too small for my large hands to play, but you can get an idea of its sound quality from the video. It's a wonderful instrument for a little virtuoso who has a passion and drive for practicing and playing! In many high end violin shops this instrument would sell for $5,000, we start it at much less and will listen to reasonable offers!

Some people buy a wonderful old German or French violin and in reality they are only pre-paying their full-size instrument, while other people pay $20 a month rent for a piece of crap that does not work and is counter productive to what they are trying to achieve. Even if you don't purchase this particular instrument, always look for an instrument that will inspire your child instead of discouraging him or her from playing.
