Meissen Painted Porcelain Figure of the 'Drunken Silenus' third quarter 19th century
Antique Meissen hand painted group depicting Drunken Silenus slumped on the donkey wearing a crown of grapevine, supported by Bacchus, with maiden relaxing on the ground & feeding the animal while a putto tugs its tail, each on a rocky rocaille-moulded base, third quarter 19th century. Overall very good condition, restoration to the grapewine & leaves, minor chip to leaf to Silenus grape-garland.
Marked: Blue crossed swords mark to bottom. incised 2724, and painted 16.
